The Prairie area of the Boise National Forest offers one of the most beautiful settings in Idaho. Prairie is located approximately 45 miles from Boise, Idaho. Take the Black’s Creek/Kuna exit located southeast of Boise on I-84, heading northeast. Turn left at the Mayfield/ Black’s Creek junction.

Prairie is also approximately 50 miles from Mountain Home, Idaho using Highway 20 going North at the Sun Valley/Fairfield exit. Turn east at the Prairie Road turnoff or at the Anderson Ranch Dam turnoff. Follow the South Fork of the Boise River heading west. The Y-Stop is located 3 miles west of Prairie on Long Gulch road.
The Y-Stop General Store is open year round, 7 days a week. You will find necessities including fuel, propane, groceries, ice, & package liquor. We also serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in our restaurant. The menu includes fresh barbequed hamburgers, Basque chorizo, steaks, chicken and salmon as well as Daily Specials. The Y-Stop also has a separate shop area for emergency repairs for your auto, ATV, motorcycle, or snowmobile. We have a separate shower room for those who are camping. The Y-Stop also has Idaho ATV, motorcycle, and snowmobile registration stickers. We can connect to the Idaho Fish and Game through the internet for instant licensing. We also have an ATM for your convenience.
